Shipment Studios

Shipment Studios began in 2021 as a rentable music production and DJ studio uniquely housed within a repurposed shipping container in Winterbourne, Bristol.

Following unforeseen circumstances, the studio underwent a transformation, rebranding to emphasize collaboration with a diverse array of artists. This evolution reflects their commitment to creativity and community, aiming to blend various artistic perspectives and styles.

My work has been crucial in re-systemizing and evolving Shipment Studios, with a mission to foster creativity and collaboration within the artistic community.

Shipment Studios can be found online at www.shipmentstudios.com and instagram.com/shipmentstudios.

My role at Shipment Studios has been varied and challenging:

My holistic approach, spanning design, artist collaboration, and production logistics, has been integral to the success of Shipment Studios. My ability to bridge the creative and operational aspects of the brand has helped cement its reputation as a collaborative and forward-thinking entity within the artistic community.

Visual Identity and Branding
I designed all visual elements for Shipment Studios, playing a pivotal role in shaping its identity. This includes garments, marketing materials, and a website that effectively communicates the studio’s mission and evolution.

Web Design
I crafted a user-friendly and visually appealing website that effectively communicates the studio's mission and offerings.

I have been in charge of creating, and then maintaining and updating the website when new products and announcements are made, making sure products have detailed descriptions, and clear, detailed product photos.

Garment Design and Production Expertise
In addition to graphic design, I have gained extensive knowledge of garment production processes, particularly Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printing. My contributions include:

Hands-On Knowledge:
Gaining insights into material selection, printing techniques, and the logistics of garment production through sampling and experimentation.

Design for DTG Printing:
Crafting designs optimized for the DTG process, ensuring high-quality results.

Web Integration:
Learning and implementing tools that integrate garment production with e-commerce platforms, streamlining the process from design to customer delivery.

Collaborative Projects and Artist Liaison
I have managed artist collaborations, particularly for the SS/BRIEF Series. This role involved:

Communication and Concept Development:
Coordinating with artists to understand their vision, ensuring their work aligns with Shipment Studios’ ethos.

Creative Support:
Providing artistic direction and visual enhancements to merge their work seamlessly into wearable art collections. Artistic direction was particularly important for SS/BRIEF projects as it was imperative that designs were optimised for the printing methods we use. This guidance is heavily implemented when writing the briefs themselves, as you can predetermine, to an extent, what the collaborating artist’s outcomes are.

My animation of the photoshoot I did promoting the “ORIGIN” clothing release for SS24.
